The Product Manager Associate will work closely with senior product managers, design, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to execute product strategies, conduct market research, and manage product features from concept to launch. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, user empathy, and analytical thinking. The ideal candidate should be comfortable collaborating with teams, managing project timelines, and analyzing customer feedback to drive product decisions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and Communicate Product Strategy: Define a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals. Ensure this strategy addresses market needs, customer pain points, and long-term business objectives. Communicate the vision effectively across teams to align everyone on the product’s direction.
  • Create and Manage Product Roadmap: Develop a detailed product roadmap that outlines upcoming features, milestones, and deliverables. Ensure the roadmap is flexible enough to adapt to changes in market conditions or business priorities. Communicate the roadmap to internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in.
  • Conduct Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Regularly conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and competitive products. Use this research to inform product decisions and ensure the product stays competitive. Identify gaps in the market and opportunities for innovation.
  • Prioritize Features and Product Initiatives: Make data-driven decisions about which features and initiatives should be prioritized in the product roadmap. Balance short-term wins with long-term product growth, using frameworks such as RICE or MoSCoW to weigh business impact, customer value, and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with teams across the organization, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support. Ensure these teams are aligned with the product vision and that they understand the priorities for each product release. Foster collaboration to ensure smooth execution of product initiatives.
  • Gather and Incorporate Customer Feedback: Engage with customers and gather feedback through surveys, interviews, and usage analytics. Use these insights to inform product decisions and ensure that the product is meeting customer needs. Act as the voice of the customer within the company, ensuring their needs are considered in every phase of product development.
  • Set and Track Product KPIs: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of the product and its features. Track these KPIs regularly to evaluate the product’s performance, including user engagement, retention, revenue, and customer satisfaction. Use this data to make informed decisions about product improvements and iterations.
  • Drive Product Launches: Plan and execute product launches, coordinating efforts between marketing, sales, engineering, and customer support. Develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and messaging for new products or features. Ensure that product launches are aligned with business goals and delivered on time.
  • Manage Product Lifecycle: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept and development through launch and eventual end-of-life. Ensure continuous improvement by regularly revisiting and updating features or addressing technical debt. Make strategic decisions about when to introduce new features or sunset existing ones.
  • Make Data-Driven Decisions: Use data and analytics to inform product decisions. Analyze product performance, user behavior, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement or new feature development. Ensure that decisions are backed by quantitative insights and lead to measurable business outcomes.
  • Balance Business and Technical Requirements: Act as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that product development balances business objectives with technical feasibility. Ensure the technical teams have the necessary resources and clear requirements to deliver on product goals, while managing expectations for business outcomes.
  • Foster Innovation and Product Improvement: Identify new opportunities for innovation by staying up to date with market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements. Encourage continuous improvement in both the product and development processes. Introduce new features or product enhancements that differentiate the product in the market.
  • Adapt to Changing Market and Business Conditions: Stay flexible and adapt the product roadmap as market conditions, customer needs, or business priorities shift. Proactively manage changes and communicate their impact on the product strategy to stakeholders, ensuring continued alignment with business goals.
  • Manage Stakeholder Expectations: Regularly communicate with key stakeholders, including executives, sales teams, and partners, to keep them informed about product progress, challenges, and future plans. Effectively manage expectations around timelines, feature delivery, and product performance.
  • Maximize Product Revenue and Profitability: Ensure the product contributes to the company’s financial goals. Make strategic decisions about pricing, product positioning, and market entry. Track and analyze revenue generated by the product, making adjustments to maximize profitability.

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in product management or a related role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
Daily Duties
  • Product Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to understand trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings. Use the data to influence product decisions and improve features.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, design) to ensure alignment on product priorities and development.
  • Backlog Grooming: Assist in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog based on customer feedback and business goals.
  • Customer Feedback Analysis: Gather, analyze, and synthesize customer feedback to identify areas of product improvement or new features.
  • Feature Testing & Validation: Work with QA and development teams to test new features and ensure they meet product specifications.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) to assess product health and success. Analyze this data to make suggestions for product improvements.
  • Documentation: Create product documentation, user guides, and presentations for internal use or customer education.
