Job Responsibilities

  • Manage Product Backlog: Organize, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that all items are aligned with the business’s strategic objectives. Continuously update the backlog to reflect changes in priorities, stakeholder feedback, and development capacity.
  • Create and Define User Stories: Develop detailed and well-structured user stories that clearly communicate the feature requirements. Ensure that these stories include precise acceptance criteria and are ready for the development team to work on, meeting the “definition of done.”
  • Feature Prioritization: Balance competing stakeholder needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility. Use prioritization frameworks like MoSCoW or RICE to make informed trade-offs, ensuring that the most valuable and impactful features are prioritized.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Regularly communicate with stakeholders from different departments (e.g., marketing, sales, engineering) to gather input and manage expectations. Ensure that the product’s development aligns with stakeholder needs and that any conflicts or competing priorities are resolved effectively.
  • Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in agile ceremonies to ensure backlog clarity, well-defined sprint goals, and alignment with product priorities. Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to support sprint execution, provide timely clarification on requirements, and ensure delivery aligns with intended business value.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and development team to support release planning and ensure features meet business expectations. Validate readiness from a product perspective and lead release communication to internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, sales, customer support) and users, clearly articulating the value and impact of the release.
  • Make Data-Driven Decisions: Use product performance data, customer feedback, and analytics to guide product decisions. Track key metrics and KPIs to measure the success of features and use this data to prioritize future development efforts.
  • Align with Product Vision: Ensure that all development work aligns with the broader product vision and strategic goals of the company. Communicate this vision clearly to the development team and stakeholders to maintain focus and direction.
  • Adapt and Improve Continuously: Stay flexible and adapt to changing business needs, market conditions, or customer feedback. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing processes and identifying areas for enhancement in both the product and team dynamics.
  • Plan Releases: Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to plan and manage product releases. Ensure that features are delivered on time, meet business expectations, and are coordinated with other departments like marketing and customer support for a successful launch.
  • Ensure Product Quality: Work closely with quality assurance (QA) teams to ensure that all developed features meet the defined acceptance criteria. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that the product meets customer and business requirements before release.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between stakeholders (internal teams, customers) and the development team, providing regular updates on progress and gathering input.
  • Customer Feedback Integration: Analyze user feedback, product performance, and customer needs to iterate on product features and adjust priorities.
  • Sprint Retrospectives: Participate in retrospectives to review past sprints and identify areas for improvement, ensuring the product and processes continually evolve.
