Technical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage the successful delivery of our software development projects. The Project Manager will work closely with the Product team, Tech Lead, and Development team to ensure seamless project execution, remove roadblocks, and maintain a focus on delivering high-quality products on time. They will also manage feature releases, prioritize critical bugs post-triage, and ensure that customer support issues are addressed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has a solid technical background and excels at coordinating, tracking, and optimizing the software delivery process in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of software development projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Sprint Planning & Execution: Lead sprint planning sessions, ensuring that technical tasks are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with the overall product roadmap.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Serve as the key liaison between the Product team, Tech Lead, and Development team to ensure smooth communication and alignment on project goals and timelines.
  • Feature Release Management: Plan and coordinate feature releases, ensuring that releases are well-communicated, deployed successfully, and meet quality standards. Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure a seamless release process.
  • Critical Bug Management: Respond to critical bug reports, ensuring that urgent issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner. Collaborate with the development team to prioritize bug fixes and minimize downtime.
  • Task Prioritization Post-Triage: After the Support Lead and QA have triaged bugs, manage the reprioritization of development tasks to address critical issues. Work closely with the Tech Lead and development team to balance feature development and bug resolution.
  • Customer Support Bug Monitoring: Monitor bugs and issues reported by Customer Support. Ensure that triaged bugs are prioritized in the development queue and pushed for resolution.
  • Release Management: Manage the release process, coordinating with development, QA, and product teams to ensure smooth, timely, and error-free deployments.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify project risks and issues, working to resolve them before they impact delivery. Escalate critical issues to the CTO as needed.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Monitor project progress through KPIs and metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders, including the CTO. Manage reporting on sprint/delivery velocity, backlog health, and resource utilization.
  • Post-Release Review: Conduct retrospectives and post-release analysis to identify areas for improvement and ensure lessons learned are integrated into future development cycles.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the delivery processes, introducing best practices, refining workflows, and reducing bottlenecks to increase efficiency and team performance.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a software delivery or project management role within a SaaS or software development environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid technical understanding of software development processes, Agile methodologies, and modern development tools (e.g., Git, Jira, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to collaborate with and coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and product managers. Experience working closely with technical leads and development teams is a must.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive problem solver with the ability to manage risks, remove roadblocks, and facilitate solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Tracking Tools: Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira to track progress, risks, and team performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a fast-growing SaaS environment.
  • Prior experience as a developer or in a technical role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
